Is it a problem if I get a promotion after applying for H1 but before the start date/approval date.

Please let me know.

Your employer needs to file an amended H-1B if there are substantial changes on your job duties after the promotion. Otherwise, you do not need to worry about it. Suggest you learn more about it at www.xielaw.com/immigration-articles/h1b-...ion-is-required.html
