April 9, 2010 USCIS just released figures from the first week of the FY2011 CAP H-1B season and filings for the 65,000 H-1B "regular" cap slots for the fiscal year that begins in October were just 13,500. That is much less than those USCIS received during the same period last year. Only 5,600 masters cap applications were filed against the 20,000 cap in that category. This means several things, good or bad. One thing is sure, there will be plenty of CAP quotas this year and it may last to next year IF US job market does not improve.
