Immigration Update: Premium Processing Fees to Increase Sharply Soon!

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced yesterday that due to inflationary impacts, it will raise the premium processing fee for Form I-907. Starting from February 26, 2024, anyone filing premium processing requests for the following applications must pay the new premium processing fee:
For premium processing of the following nonimmigrant visa categories, the fee will increase from $2,500 to **$2,805**:

E visas (E-1, E-2, E-3);
-
H visas (H-1B, H-3);
-
L visas (L-1A, L-1B);
-
O visas (O-1, O-2);
-
P visas (P-1, P-1S, P-2, P-2S, P-3, P-3S);
-
Q visas and TN visas (TN-1, TN-2).
For premium processing of the following immigrant visa categories, the fee will also increase from $2,500 to **$2,805**:

First Preference: Priority Workers (Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Professors and Researchers, Multinational Executives and Managers);

Second Preference: Professionals with Advanced Degrees or Aliens of Exceptional Ability (both Labor Certification and National Interest Waiver cases);
-
Third Preference: Skilled Workers, Professionals, and Other Workers (Labor Certification cases).
However, for premium processing of H-2B visas (Temporary Nonagricultural Workers) and R-1 visas (Religious Workers), the fee will rise from $1,500 to **$1,685**.
For premium processing of the following Form I-539 applications for extension or change of status, the fee will increase from $1,750 to **$1,965**:

Student visa statuses (F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2);

Exchange visitor visa statuses (J-1, J-2);
-
E visas (E-1, E-2, E-3);
-
Certain dependent statuses (L-2, H-4, O-3, P-4, and R-2).
The premium processing fee for F-1 students applying for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) will also increase from $1,500 to **$1,985**.
Important Note: If the above application packages are mailed before February 26, 2024—even if USCIS receives them on or after February 26, 2024—the original premium processing fee will still apply. All premium processing requests filed on or after February 26, 2024, must be accompanied by the new fee.
